We have had to make the tough decision to cancel our annual presentation and social evening. We feel it's in people's best interest to do it as soon as possible rather than leaving it late and the decision possibly being taken out of our hands.

Our Annual Social Evening and Presentation is on Saturday March 21st, 2020 and will be held at the The Elan Hotel .
Tickets are £10 and that includes an open buffet. Please get in touch if you would like a ticket. It's a great evening and the more the merrier! Llyngwyn Fishing Report January 2020
January saw some good catches again off the boats at Llyngwyn with Lee Jenkins landing 13 fish on one visit and 11 on the next with a cracking 5lb rainbow. Rob Hickson had good month fishing from the bank and caught 9 fish on one visit and a 4lb on a damsel which was returned to fight another day. Flies that fished well include Cats Whiskers, Damsels, Viva’s and Blobs. Could we remind all anglers to please fill in the returns book even if they fail to catch, and don’t forget we are a TroutMasters fishery, so if you have a catch that you would like to enter you can get it weighed in at Hafod Hardware in Rhayader. Thanks Rhayader & Elan Valley Angling Association. RHAYADER & ELAN VALLEY ANGLING ASSOCIATION

Monday 3rd February, 2020. The Elan Hotel, Rhayader. 7:30PM - All welcome. Llyngwyn Fishing Report December 2019
December saw some great results despite the lousy weather and some large catches from off the 3 boats we have available at Llyngwyn with bags up to 24 fish and cracking rainbows up to 6lbs in weight. There was also plenty of fish caught off the bank with the average bag of 4 fish in the range of 1½lbs – 6lbs. Popular flies used include Damsels, Vivas & Cats Whiskers. Again, it is great to see many anglers releasing fish to fight another day and using barbless hooks. Thank you to all that braved it to make it to our annual Fur & Feather Competition at Llyngwyn. It was a cold and challenging days fishing after a night of extremely heavy rain and all anglers had a great days fishing followed by a meal and presentation of prizes supplied by Bob the Butcher at the Lamb and Flag. 1st Ben Evans with 3 fish @ 9 .1 lb 2nd Marco Orsi with 4 fish @ 7lbs 3rd Roger Lewis 4 fish @ 5.3lbs Llyngwyn Fly Fishing Beginners Session
Subject to weather conditions the club will be holding another beginners session at 10am on Sunday 1st December at Llyngwyn. The session is free and will last approximately 2-3 hours. We would suggest that the minimum practical age of participants is around 8 years old as some of the younger children find it quite difficult. If you would like to attend, please message us or respond to this post. Could everyone attending please ensure they have suitable warm clothing, wellies a hat and sunglasses to protect eyes. Congratulations to the Sharman brothers, representing our two Mid Wales fisheries in the Troutmasters Final at Draycote. Paul Sharman, representing Llyngwyn fishery, was placed 19th, whilst his brother Pat Sharman, representing the Elan Valley fishery, was placed 36th. Well done both.
Thanks to everyone who attended our beginners session this morning. Great to see a few fish being caught and some new faces. We will keep you posted with details of future dates.
